29-Day Giving Challenge

Yesterday my sister Trisha sent his to all her friends on here and got quite to feedback!
I think we should put this out to the community!
(Also today Wako started a Green Group! I see a pattern here!)

"It's a rainy day in Georgia let's all say a prayer of thanks! And do something good for the environment today as a gift.

I will use no heating or air conditioning today, ride to and from work with my husband, ride to and from lunch with a friend, have a cold dinner to save electricity, recycle as much a possible.

What will you do?"

I'm recycling all the clothing I no longer wear (or can't fit into) that has been taking up space in my closet for way too long! I'm also going thru some other things and giving them either to charities thrift shops or to people I know can use them! I'm trying to reuse, repurpose and recycle as much as possible!
Here are some things I've been doing recently:

- Turn the heat off during the day and only put it on when it gets too cold in the house;

- Group errands together so I don't have to leave the house every day and use gas;

- Am making quilts and natural toys (toys made from wool felt and stuffed with wool from sheep I use to raise) for my daughters this Christmas - all using fabric, clothes they have outgrown, felt, and wool that I have on hand;

- Donated some clothes, coats, snowpants, and boots that my daughters no longer wear to "Project Quin" to help Native Alaskan children in a remote tunda village keep warm this winter (many children don't even have socks or underwear...much less a coat).

I love helping the environment and teaching children the importance of it!
