29-Day Giving Challenge

Did you ever wonder why the people in your life at any given time, whether they hang around for long or not, are there to begin with?  Are you suppose to learn something from them?  They from you?  Are they in your life to reflect to you that no matter how "bad" you think you may have it, someone, somewhere, for sure has it worse than you.  Yes, could they have been sent to foil your pity party plans?

Several people have come in and out of my life.  Most of the time I do not realize their reason for being in my life until we have both moved on in different directions.  I often wonder, if I was for them what they were for me?  Did they understand how much they meant (mean) to me?  Do they ever wonder where is she now and what is she doing?

People pass in and out of our lives time and time again.  Without us even realizing it, I think we have "given" them something while sharing our world, if even for a moment in time.  Did I give my friendship, insight, a shoulder to cry on, a person to party with, etc. when at that time that is exactly what they needed?  I know they did in mine.

So, just a thought on my part, but while you may think you have not been too much of a giver in the past, I'd be willing to bet you have given more than you realize.  More than you'll ever know.  More joy, more love and more of yourself that just comes natural.  So wrap your arms around yourself and tell yourself that you do make a difference in the world, even if you didn't know it.

Thank you. I really needed to read this tonight.

It's funny, b/c I think about people who have come into my life and what I have received from that relationship/encounter. Strangely, I've never thought about what I offer/give to them.

This reminds me of the song from Wicked called "For Good."
JJ I am glad you were able to connect with this. We are all contributing, to someone or something all the time. We are just usually so busy running, jumping and navigating our day to day activities we don't see our value to the world and those we share our lives with.

Very interesting! Thanks Dawn~

People come into your lives for a short time and some for longer.  All have something we need whether we realize it at the time or not.  Some build you up and help give you confidence.  I have that now.  I didn't realize that was a gift till later.  I am able to stand up for what I believe now where before I would just keep quiet.  Thank you for writing about this.  It is in God's plans.  Thank you Deb

This is a beautiful post and a wonderful reminder to all of us about the lives that we touch and those that touch ours. Thank you...  :)
