I found this amazing online place that I wanted to share with everyone~ it's called Freecycle. You can go to the main site here
http://www.freecycle.org/ and then find a local group in your area. I have been having fun giving something away once or twice a week. I just bag it up and leave it on my front doorstep~ I also have found some great finds, for some of my friends in need and also a couple bags of practically new clothes that fit me, hard to find size 1 clothing, so I was thrilled to pieces~ It's a fun way to empty your home of clutter & recycle unwanted items to others who may be in need of just the item you are not using anymore ;)
here is some more information on Freecycle:
The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,730 groups with 6,665,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!
Their Mission Statement:
"Our mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community."
