29-Day Giving Challenge

This month marks the beginning of the traditional holiday season, complete with Thanksgiving - a holiday devoted to being grateful for the bounty in our lives. It’s a time to take notice of what we have, whether that’s things, or people.

I have so much to be grateful for this holiday season - a thriving community of givers, a newly released book, wonderful friends and family, my health, and the opportunity to share the spirit of the 29 Gifts movement with thousands of people.

So in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, as well as that of our 29 Gifts Movement, I have decided to start this discussion in hopes that each of you will leave replies telling us 3 (or more!) things in your life that you are grateful for. What are you grateful for today?

I've also begun a Gratitude Greetings event for this month. You can read more and join in here:

I am grateful for so many things-my family, my church, my dog...
It is so great to see the common threads weaving through the posts so far - Gratitude connects us all together!
I have been living in gratitude for the last 29 days as my Round 2. As my Round 3, I'm living the next 29 days consciously grateful for all of the food I eat. Not only do beings give up their lives to be a part of this life cycle of giving and receiving, but there are dozens of events which happen in between. So my gratitude goes to the farmers, especially those I know who work hard all year round, and the cooks, who share their talents with me & others, and the friends and family, who simply open their cabinets to my adventures in cuisine, and the providers, who must transport all of these raw & processed materials to my convenience. A lot goes into our simple snacks and quick Rachel Ray 30 minute dinners, even before we see it.
And Cami, I believe sending a Thank You card randomly this month is a wonderful idea. I will definitely "attend" that event.
I am grateful for my daughter's health, for my extra (unexpected!) part time job and for my faith as it is what has sustained me through this difficult times.
This is a great idea! Gratitude has always been a major focus in my life! Here's a partial list:

My two awesome boys.
My parents.
My friends.
Challenging circumstances that help me to grow.
Spiritual support.
Having a warm and comfortable place to live and food to eat.
Good health.
Books to read.
The internet and groups like this!
My cats.
Coffee.
Chocolate.
Hot showers.
A new power cord for my laptop.
Opportunities to give.
Never running out of thing to be grateful for! LOL
I am grateful for my health, my hubby, and my happy life. As a nurse, I appreciate my good health everyday and know how much it affects (good or bad) everything you do or ever wanted to do in life. Take care of your body... it is a wonderous vessel... our soul's only ship through this turbulent voyage called life. As for my hubby... he is patient and kind and puts up with my hysterics and other antics, and without him, I would not have my beautiful baby girl perfected in just the way she naturally is. Lastly... my happy life. Not always so happy. Misery was my most popular former muse. There is a choice in there somewhere. I can't tell you where it is or when it rears it's head in daily life exactly... I barely found it myself. But it's in there... a choice to be happy... or not to be. At some point you realize it takes just as much effort to be unhappy as it does to be happy. Counselling or not, zoloft or no zoloft... there is a choice. I am thankful for so much. I am so grateful.
I am so grateful for all the blessings I receive from God, but the 3 things I am most grateful for are my heatlh, my 2 healthy and happy children, and my loving husband!
Such a timely message.
Just today I woke up to deal with what I can only call a disturbing issue.. and throughout the day I have thought- I need to focus on what I am grateful for. Thank you for the reminder.
#1) I just received the most lovely message that a girlfriend of mine accepts the 29-Day Giving Challenge and she has brought on one of her friends. SO MUCH FUN to spread the word and encourage involvement.
#2) I am thankful that my dear friend's son just got out of surgery for a kidney transplant and it was a total success!!!
#3) I am grateful that a loved one is coming to visit in two weeks.. after our not having seen each other in 7 months!
Going to take the advice above and keep going...
#4) I am grateful that I have created a lifestyle in which although I am not abundant in the finances just yet, I have the flexibility to do what I want, when I want to. I am going to take a trip to CT to see family next month as well as a trip to NY to see friends. I feel blessed to be able to just choose that and make it happen.
#5) I am grateful for a friend of mine who just lost his father... reminding me how important it is to remember mine. He posts every day something his dad said or did or liked. After my father passed he was not discussed in the household.. I sort of lost touch with it even being OK to talk about and remember him. My friend is inspiring me through his loss to find ways to remember and connect with my dad.
On that note, all teary eyed, I will close.
So much to be grateful for!
Thank you for the reminder---
Today I am so grateful for so many things. I am so grateful for my relationship with God. I am also grateful for my family and for my life. Each day is a blessing.
I am grateful for the people that surround me in my life are all so loving, kind and funny.
I am grateful for the good health of these same people and myself
I am grateful for finding such extraordinary "strangers"the universe is giving me and having them share their visions, causes and experiences with so many others . .
I have so much for which to be thankful, but my top three are:

1) My husband's improving health (he suffered kidney failure last Christmas)
2) Our newly discovered pregnancy
3) My family, friends, and life in general.

Blessings to you all!
Stephanie
