Giving Thanks - What Are You Grateful For Today?
This month marks the beginning of the traditional holiday season, complete with Thanksgiving - a holiday devoted to being grateful for the bounty in our lives. It’s a time to take notice of what we have, whether that’s things, or people.I have so much to be grateful for this holiday season - a thriving community of givers, a newly released book, wonderful friends and family, my health, and the opportunity to share the spirit of the 29 Gifts movement with thousands of people.
So in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, as well as that of our 29 Gifts Movement, I have decided to start this discussion in hopes that each of you will leave replies telling us 3 (or more!) things in your life that you are grateful for. What are you grateful for today?

Today, November 26, 2009 Thanksgiving Day, I am grateful for enough food to eat, a renewed relationship with my sister, a warm safe place to live and a peaceful lifestyle.

Today I am grateful for people that write children's books. Over the last two days I have read my sons (ages 7 and 9) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It has been so nice to just relax in the summer and read my boys this book. We talk about the story, snuggle up, laugh and just hang out. Thank you Roald Dahl

when i was a kid my Mom would read to me and my sisters in the evenings - The Trumpet of the Swan and Jonathan Livingston Seagull are two books that stand out in my memory. those were such good times! enjoy your time with your sons, they grow up and are gone before you know it. Hugs, Dawn

I am grateful today for having my great-nieces stay with us this week and paint giving rocks that we gave away yesterday and will continue to hand out today (if it stops raining so hard...). Today, we decorated masks and tomorrow we're tie-dying t-shirts. Saturday will be sandcastle day; thanks to genuine for sharing the idea and sand recipe!

10. Laughter: My newly 6-year-old great-niece, Kaitlyn, has decided that since she's starting first grade, she'll need to begin every morning before school relaxing with a cup of coffee. And, "Oh, yeah", she told her mom, "I'll need a robe."

too funny! kids come up with the darndest things. when i was up in Tyler for my granddaughter Samantha's birthday, her sister Madeline (5) told me very seriously, "God is everybody's father." i said "He sure is." she replied, "And God's wife is everybody's mother".
