29-Day Giving Challenge

Hi giving friends!

I feel so gifted to be part of this giving family and I want to open it to the world...but today I am reaching out for your help for someone in particular. My brother-in-law is in a very dark place and has no wanting of doing anything to get out...no matter how much we try to help him. Having lost my best friend from suicide when I was 18, I understand that no matter how beautiful you see someone, they must see it themselves before anything can change...so I want to show him his beauty.

I would like, along with my daily gift to the world, to try to a 29 gift giving to him soley...but anonymously. I don't want him to know who it's coming from. I just want him to feel loved and warm. I want him to believe it comes from the world and hopefully gives him strength to take a step to heal and start his life again..what he deserves.

So I am coming to you asking for ideas. I live in California and he lives in Illinois. I am currently unemployed, so expensive gifts is 1) not an option and 2) not what he needs. I have a few ideas, but I don't have 29 of them. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I appreciate it and look forward to hearing and sharing all your wonderful ideas!

Hi Tereya!

Thank you for your kind gesture! I am touched an really appreciate it! I have completed my 29-days to him in December. At this time, I am letting him take it all in as he needs to work on him...we can't work on him for him. I'll keep you posted on if I do another round and will take you up on your offer at time if the offer still stands! :) I wish you a beautiful and giving year!

I understand your desire to reach out to someone you love. My brother was feeling quite upset and discouraged - and nearing his 40th birthday as well. I lived far away also, and I wanted to let him know he was loved - anonymously. I determined to send him CARDS. I searched for all kinds of cards - silly, sentimental, blank inside, I love & appreciate you, etc. I addressed each of them in calligraphy (he didn't know I could write like that), and then I gave (or mailed them) to friends and others that I knew who would be traveling during the month before his birthday - to mail from ALL OVER the USA!
He received cards almost EVERY DAY for a whole month - at work and at home (I let his wife know so she wouldn't think there was any hanky-panky going on). He was completely astonished. He had no idea that anyone loved him like that, or cared about him so much. He looked forward to the mail each day, and my sister-in-law told me he even began to WHISTLE!
By the time my brother's birthday came, his whole perspective had changed. He was excited about life, about his future, and turning 40 was a new beginning for him!
I love this whole idea Cassandra~ I might have to do this myself! Thanks for sharing ;o)
All of this is very inspiring!! Kudos to everyone.
