29-Day Giving Challenge

We have named May HEALTH MONTH here at 29 Gifts. We encourage you to do at least one thing to support your health each day. Take a walk. Eat something green. Drink an extra glass of water. Feel free to leave other simple health tips on this discussion string so we can share ideas.

I will personally be doing a 29-Day Cleanse. I do a cleanse every spring, though it is different every year. I clean my diet up, walk and exercise more and try to slow down and get more rest and "me" time.

To help encourage myself and others to get moving and improve our health, I have scheduled a Wellness Walk in my current home town (Kimball, NE) and one in Denver Colorado. I may also do one in LA and Chicago since I will be both places the end of the month. I'll likely bring something a little special that we can give away to people as we walk. It looks like I'll have a few of you cleansing with me. Yeah! I'm excited for our first call on Thursday!

Doing another 29-Gifts Calendar challenge, and getting enough "me" time in the midst of a myriad of storms around me.
My son bought me a 7 speed bike so now that the sun is occasionally shining, I'm riding 2 miles 2 or 3 times a day!!!

I am making smoothies most mornings now for my husband and I. They are never the same.
I use any fruit I may have on hand. Apples, watermelon, oranges, blueberries etc.. then add some juice, yogurt and best of all handfuls of spinach too. They are delicious. Sounded disgusting to me to throw in spinach but the smoothie is great tasting and you would never know a vegetable was in there. Safeway here right now has gigantic strawberry baskets.. buy 1 get 1 free. Since we could never eat them all befrore they mold, I chopped up the 2nd basket and froze them in baggies. (Apparently freezing fresh fruit and putting them in smoothies is better than using up over ripened fruit).

For my mental health - I'm using the flexibility I have in my job to work from home more to gain back my commute time. I'm using this time to spend with my children, do odd chores during my 'break time' and get to bed earlier at night. As a single mom every moment counts!!
