I didn't realize it until I started this project last year that there are more than a million cheap and/or free ways to give.

* Keep a smile on your face all day
* Write a note to a significant other (romantic, family, friend, &c.) telling them why you love them
* Share a new song with someone who will appreciate it
* Invite someone over for dinner
* Pay the bus fare of the person behind you in line
* Take in cookies or a fresh flowers from your yard to your public library staff
* Gather up 1/10 of the clothes in your closet and donate them to a local charity.
&c. &c. &c.

For reminders to give- put a candle in your bathroom. As you are getting ready for the day, light it and think as you brush your teeth about what your next give will be. If that sounds too complicated, find a neat quote (from this site or elsewhere) which will remind you of this project. Write it on a Post-It Note and stick it to the dash of your car. You'll see it there.

Have fun. It's a great game!
thank you for the ideas! =)

Treat someone to a cup of coffee
Send a letter to a service member
Visit someone who is down
Collect some of your favorite jokes and/or inspriational quotes and send them to someone to brighten their day
Make someone laugh
Offer to do a chore for someone - clean their office or car, go to the store, babysit

I read on a blog by Coventina about taking things to the Humane Society from their online wishlist. I have towels stored in my attic that I know I will never use as well as some towels that are worn and need to be replaced. I'm sure without looking on the list that towels are an item they probably need. This was a great idea.....Thanks.

Lots of great ideas on this site, too.

Happy Giving!

I've been collecting items to donate to an elementary teacher. I delivered a gift bag full of staples, pens, pencils, crayons, tape, etc during teacher appreciate week. My husband and I went into a school and asked the principal to identify a teacher that is always giving and going that extra step...Ms. Gutrick was pleasantly surprised when we came knocking at her classroom door.

There are many ideas posted in the forum at the top of the page~ Best of luck and Happy Giving!
