This goes on all the time but you can't let that enter into each time the opportunity comes up to help someone. We all may have seen this go on or given to someone that may not be honest but if you focus on that part of it then someone that is truly in need will suffer. I believe most in need and panhandling or whatever they have to do to survive are in need. I find I can't just walk by and pretend I did not see that person. We all see it differently though. I hope you wil think of that now and then. I agree what was done is wrong if true but when I give, I give from the heart, with intention and what happens after is out of my hands and hopefully truly helping someone in need. Does that help? I hope so.

If the recipient is less than honest that doesn't change your intentions. I found that I needed to disconnect from the outcome of my gift. I needed to let the intention carry itself. But also I have found that when a sign says I am hungry, it is easy to give food or drink in place of money. This challenge certainly stretches you in new directions. You can find your own comfort zone for giving.

I tend to give a dollar or two when I feel moved and consciously let go of any judgement about how my gift is used. I trust in good in people and the world in general and have to trust that the greater good is at work on a bigger level for us all, even when upsetting things happen.
This brings up good points....
