WELCOME gift ideas for New Neighbors?
We have new neighbors moving in this weekend right across the street. The welcome gifts that come to mind are food and flowers. We think they have school-age kids but don't know age. I bake/cook as little as I can, so I thought of doing a market coffee cake and an offer to share plants from my yard. I'm thinking that with so many creative giving members here I might gather some other ideas!......Thanks....Eileen

Your ideas are wonderful Eileen~ Maybe some info about the town or city they will be living in and maybe activities for the kids too. Maybe a coupon or certificate for a dinner in town too.The possibilities are enless really...

I have done a basket of things in our community that would be helpful- a map, a phone book, some local restaurant menus, some brochures of non profit organizations in town, etc... anything you do will be great and welcoming! take care!

Thanks for the ideas. We came upon one.....the owner told us he wants to put up windchimes to scare off the woodpecker that has pecked into the house, so we bought one for them. We have a few and they don't scare any birds, but they are soothing to listen to. I also offered them flowers from my yard to transplant....we have so many that grow rampant. They have lived in town for some years in an apt. so they are familiar with what's in the community.

I remember this happening when I was a child. I miss it but try to do something similar when new neighbors move in~
