Where is the event Holly? Yard sales are easy to do if you are organized~ What help do you need?
Hi, holly. To make it easy, what I have had in the past are one day $1 Yard sales - anything unmarked is $1 - and that's most everything. That way, you don't have to mess with tagging everything. Anything selling for $10 and up is clearly marked. Anything that would sell for less than $1 goes in a big marked FREE box near the front of the yard.
Around 4:30pm, or when it starts really slowing down, I would bring higher end items I or family might want in the house and put up an EVERYTHING IS FREE sign. I usually ended up with a couple of bags to take to Goodwill or other local charity.
Sales are fast, there's less haggling because I practically gave everything away already, most everything was gone before dinnertime and clean up was a breeze.
Put at least four signs up within a mile radius around your neighborhood several days before..
You can also advertise in the newspaper or local paper, but I've never done that. I got plenty of traffic with just the $1 Yard Sale signs around the neighborhood.
Have fun.
These are great ideas!
