Art sings to souls! I have a friend in the community where I live who makes music and then passes out his music for free to people on the street...he makes music with the intent of giving it as a gift! How cool is that? He doesn't want to be famous or to sell his music or to be in the spotlight, he simply wants to bring beauty into the world and to touch souls through the channel of music. Just a thought.

I just joined this group (my background is graphic arts) and saw the drawing Smiling Sun posted more than a year ago. The quote is one I've been using as my email signature for years! Love it!

I have had a fascination with maps since childhood--using them, drawing them, dreaming with them. I recently lost two of my friends to cancer and was looking for a way to document my adventures with them. I found the book "Personal Geographies: Explorations in Mixed-Media Mapmaking" by Jill Berry. I think I've found a way to honor them and our lives together.

nice sketch AND nice proverb, SmilingSun! i love how the doggie is snuggling on the man's arm, it reminds me of our dachshund Sam snuggling with my Hubby. i think it would make nice note cards that you could sell as a fund raiser, just a suggestion. Hugs, Dawn

I've been absent. I'm sorry, but I'm back and I'm ready to take action. This is a sketch. I'm thinking about cleaning it up and using the prints to raise money for my local Rescue Mission and Animal Shelter. I may donate the original to a silent auction, if I can find one that wants it. :)
