I finished Cami's book last night and gifted it to a classmate. I know she'll benefit from it. I am continuing on with Stolen Tomorrows and Inkheart. Inkheart is good, but it's sooooooo long. Funny, the Twilight books only took me 8 days to read.

I am currently reading _Inkheart_, _29 Gifts_ by Cami Walker, and Stolen Tomorrows.

I recently read the book,"Your Best Life Now" by Joel Osteen. It is really inspiratioal especially if you are going through hard times.I also love anything by Jodi Picoult.I am in the middle of her book "Harvesting The Heart".I also just started a book called "Living Life as a Thank You" by Nina Lesowitz and Mary Beth Sammons. This is very up-lifting too, about gratitude and expressing gratitude in the tough times of life.

in my opinion, a Kindle or Nook might be okay for utility reading, but nothing can compare with a real live book. it's kind of like the difference between an email and a real letter, only more so.

Me, too, Dawn. I love the look and smell of books; the warm, cozy feeling of holding it and reading page to page. I'm struggling with the idea of owning a new ebook reader, like Nook and Kindle. First, because they're so expensive, but second, because of the sensory joys of a book in hand. 'Aint nothin' like it.

I have learned to view the movie and the book as two separate beasts.. I actually wrote a paper about this in grad school. What I discovered was that about 50% of the time they do a pretty good job on the movie and having read the book improves the movie experience and about 50% of the time, the only thing the two have in common are the title. In about 95% of the cases the book was better than the movie. The few times I found that to be different were when a book was very long and meandering and the movie cut to the chase. For me, the two best examples of that are Stephen King's "The Body" and the movie Stand By Me, and Pat Conroy's Prince of Tides.

right now I'm reading "New Moon" the second book in the Twilight series ... anyone interested in a discussion on these??

I haven't seen the movies or anything and am not super-crazy about them, but they are sort of intriguing ....

My friend lent them to me. We talked about it beforehand and she said "It's not something I'd usually be into" (vampire stories? me neither) She said, "But they're well-written and just sort of a fun, easy read." That's exactly what they've been for me. I'm enjoying.
