29-Day Giving Challenge

I tend to download books from iTunes to listen to while commuting an hour each way to school during the year. The summer is when I read a book a week, (used to be a book a day... am getting old!)
I have an extensive library of audio books that I get from Audible.com. It costs me $22 a month and I get two books for nothing once a month. They have a fabulous selection and a lot times it reminds me of "story time" at the library when I was a kid.

Listening also allows me to grade, and knit and lots of other things- so I can multitask!
Anyone else into Audio books? Who are your favorites?

My newest favorite to listen to are the Sophie Katz books by Kyra Davis- check them out!

I like certain books on Audio. Have you listened to Skylight Confessions by Alice Hoffman. Wonderful experience.
Never heard of it, what's it about?
I loved the audio version of Eat Pary Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's read by the author and you can almost see her sitting across for you with a cup of coffee, telling you the story. I highly recommend it.
I listened to Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I didn't want to get out of my car I was enjoying it so much. It is non-fiction about her year in Italy, India, and Indonesia. She reads the book and does a very good job.
I'm an avid Audio book "reader" ( It's the fastest growing segment nation wide for libraries). I so agree about both the multitasking and feeling like a kid again at story time. I probably listen to one or two books a week. I'm currently reading one or two books the old fashion way, but these are generally books that need more thought. I just finished listening to Stones into Schools which I enjoyed as much as his first book Three Cups of Tea. My favorite all time series to listen to was The Ladies #1 Detective Series. Not only did I learn about the rhythm of life in Africa but sooooo enjoyed listening to the African words being pronounced. It's like hearing a lovely song.
i just got the hard copy of Stones Into Schools in the mail. i am looking forward to reading it...didn't realize it came on audio.

I love audiobooks for learning things. I like this title "Your Brain at Work" a lot and I listen to Buddhist lectures or language courses as well. I guess I absorb it better with listening so I'm happy to see your post.
