I love, Love, LOVE Christopher Moore.  Although I am not normally a "vampire" reader, I enjoy his.  I think  my favorite of his works is Lamb (the life of Christ as told by his best friend Biff).  Have you read any Carl Hiaasen?  He also rights humorous novels with a great deal of irreverance, but always backed with hope and humanity.

I read one of his books; it was a christmas one, the Stupidest Angel ...
It was so crazy and something that was out of this world/impossible ... didn't think I'd like that sort of book, but you know I just found myself lightening up, letting go, and enjoying the read

I have been told for years to read his works, especially Lamb. So what do I do? I start with Practical Demonkeeping. It was hilarious with mostly realistic characters and fantastic dialogue. What made it even better was the reader of the audio book. He had so many distinct voices that I forgot that I was listening to one guy!

My favorite is A Dirty Job!  He has a new one coming out in a month or so....
