Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on something a couple of us are trying and see if you want to participate (please do!). If you have seen The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants then you'll get the concept immediately. And even if you haven't, it's just a really fun/unique way to be introduced to new texts, something we ALL have in common being in this club! We all know that sometimes we hear of texts from friends that they swear by but that we wouldn't have picked up in a million years. Here's your chance to expand your horizons!
All participants will chose one of their favorite books (that they don't mind sharing). In a round robin fashion, you'll have two weeks to read your book and then send it on. I will provide you with one address that you will be sending your books to...it will be the same address each time so that eventually (depending on the number of participants) you will actually be receiving your book back once the tree has completed its circle!
We have decided to make the deadline to sign up for our adventure July 20th (Tuesday). When you respond to this post, you can either message me privately or I will message you in the following week to obtain your address and the book title you'll be sharing. I will be the only one with access to that information and will limit address knowledge to ONLY the person who will be sending to you. The following Tuesday (July 27th) I will message everyone individually withthe address that they will be sending books to. You will have a three day window (Weds-Fri, and Sat in a pinch!) to get the book to your contact so that everyone should have a new text to devour by August 1st!
If you're interested, here are some ground rules:
1. Remember that this book is someone else's property and they are gifting you by sharing it. Have good borrowing etiquette and try not to dog-ear, rip, or otherwise, in some way, harm their book.
2. Under no circumstances can you share the personal information of the person you are sending to with anyone else. Please respect their privacy as you would expect them to do for you!
3. Try to be timely reading and most importantly finishing your book. Remember that everyone is on the same time table you are so keeping the book and/or asking for an extension can mess the balance of the tree up. (If you cannot finish but want to, you can message me and I will let you know who the book belongs to so you can speak with them about possibly getting it back once the tree has finished its cycle)
4. Read with an open mind! With that said, we welcome discussions of the book here on the Book Club page, but remember to be respectful of the individual who shared the text with you.
5. Have fun!
If you have questions or concerns, feel free to message me!
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
