29-Day Giving Challenge

Hi all! I'm new to the group and was just wondering what you all are reading right now. I'm a big Stephen King fan, and my husband gave me his newest novel, "Under the Dome" for Christmas, so I'm reading that now. It's a long one, over 1000 pages.

I loving the Red Book / Sera Beak right now. Follow the link and you'll get a really good idea of her fun writing style and great ideas. It's a non-fictional account of both Beak's building relationship with the Divine and some hints she thinks might help people, especially young women of her generation, connect with a Higher Power.

I have a funny memory about Stephen King. My older sister was reading Pet Semetary when I was really little. I was a big reader, so when I saw her new book I made a beeline straight for it. Of course, she grabbed it before my 2nd or 3rd grade hands could get a hold of it. She obviously thought it was inappropriate. ;)

I read more Stephen King in high school and college. My experience with The Shining reflected JennH's of Salem's Lot. I was sitting my bean bag in my room alone and it was getting late. My father didn't see a need to knock on my door when he needed something, so when he burst into the room to ask me a question, I literally jumped up 5 feet in the air.

I am reading Keeping Faith by jodi piquoit.  It was hard to get into, but getting better.
I am reading a novel by Jodi Picoult, "Keeping Faith".  It took about 40 pages to get into it, but now I carry it with me and read when I have a few minutes.  Haven't done that since the book The Shack.  Highly recommended.  I can't read Stephen King.  To weird for me and trying to sleep after is a big problem.  I don't go to his movies either nor have I read any of Hary Potter novels.  I think they are all in the Scy-Fi group of books.  Everyone has their own tastes.  I like mystry's, drama, medical type, The Shack and anything by Og Mandino are my favorites.  The Medical novels I have read recently are by Micheal Palmer.  rocken nana
