I have a new project to pitch:
I think we will be quilting for a local Battered Women's center, I used to be involved with. We can be making teddy bears with mini quilts for the kids and a quilt for each mom and her children. They usually come with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The turnover there is probably close to how many quilts my group of quilters can put out, and we or I will teach teddy's to anyone interested!

Woo Hoo!
See ya on Tues mornings and Thursday nights!!!

I know you will be there in spirit!
We will make a Mary Bear and she will be you!
( She can look over us and add inspiration!)

I'd be honored and on duty 24/7. Just promise not to make her 'Plus Size"!
You are too funny!
what a great idea! i am so glad that you are going to continue to quilt. it will do so much for those families self esteem to know that someone cares enough to do that for them - i remember how after i finally got away from my first (abusive) husband i felt like i didn't even deserve to take up space in the world. Hugs, Dawn
Me too Dawn! My ex put me in the ER 6 times in 4 years and ran over me with a car!
I have so much excitement about this project!!!
Hope you will be on our team!
I am thinking of starting a group here...got any ideas for a name?
Help For Hopeful Souls, Hope for Hurting Souls, Quilts and More.
We are brainstorming before we post the group...hmmm...

Brainstorming group names...

Hope for Healing Souls
Help for Healing Souls
The Hurting Souls Comfort Inn
Healing Matters
Healing Bears
She Who Heals with Bears (just kidding... - that's Sharon's Indian name. HAHAHAHA))
the woman in charge of the Southeast Texas Women's Shelter told me the other day that she tells the women she works with, " Remember that song 'I am Woman, Hear Me Roar"? We are going to help you get your roar back". i thought that was so cool.

ideas for the group's name:

" Get Ready to Roar"

or "Stitching Our Way Strong",

or "Pieces of our Hearts"

or "Wrap Our Sisters with Love"

or "Piecing It All Together.
I am movin ghtis discussion string!
I started a group last night and called it for the lack of any other name:
Sewing Hope For Hurting Souls
