29-Day Giving Challenge

Sherrie33 suggested Jars in July:

Fill empty jars with something someone needs.  Then decorate them and give them away.  Make them personal or make them random.

Need Ideas? How about  nuts, chex party mix, homemade croutons, cookies, birdseed, pet treats, buttons, potpourri, quotes, shells,  things you like about the person, jokes, .....

Speaking of jokes, I'd like to add a Jokes in July challenge, as well.  Make someone laugh with a great joke - the sillier the better.

Ok, I'll start off with an advance July gift for everyone:

A woman's husband passes away with a final wish - he wants to be buried with their $50,000 in savings.

No one can believe their eyes, as the widow approaches the casket at the viewing and desposits a wrapped package.

Following the memorial, her friends and family ask her how she could bury thier savings.

"I'm a Christian woman and I wanted to respect my husband's wishes."

"So you really did it? You BURIED $50,000 in cash???"

"No, I wrote a check."
i've heard this one before, but it's funny every time!
I love it Mary! I gotta show Darrell these! He loves a good joke!
New one to me. How funny!
About Jars and Jokes
Mom comes to visit her son John who's living with a female roommate named Samantha. John's mother doesn't like the idea of her son living with a woman, as he's in college and doesn't need any distractions. To ease his mother's worries, John invites her to stay for dinner. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty John's roommate was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two and this had only made her more curious. Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between John and his roommate than met the eye. Reading his mom's thoughts, John volunteered, "I know what your thinking Mom, but I assure you, Samantha and I are just roommates."
About a week later, Samantha came to John saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver peanut butter jar. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" John said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."
So he sat down and wrote:
Dear Mother,
I'm not saying that you 'did' take the peanut butter jar from my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the peanut butter jar. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.
Love,
John
Several days later, John received an email from his Mother which read:
Dear Son,
I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Samantha, and I'm not saying that you 'do not' sleep with Samantha. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the peanut butter jar under her pillow...
Love,
Mom
THAT was a good one! {{laughing hysterically}} Hugs, Dawn
OMG! That is so hilarious! I love it! :o)
Ooops - we didn't do so well with July's challenge, but there's a few days left to redeem ourselves. :-)

I just remembered, I gave a jar filled with rocks to my niece last week for her Daisy group to making giving rocks!

Now for a joke... Say "knock-knock".
ooh, busted! i completely forgot! i better get busy :-D
I had almost forgotten about it as well, but it was a great opportunity to make up a "puppy jar" I took a picture of Duchess, a friend's 3 month old puppy and filled it with chews, greenies, and other treats, added a "new puppy handbook" I found at a book sale along with a new harness, leash and a little pink bandana and it was the perfect puppy gift.
what a great idea! with all the things you do for our furry friends, i should have seen that coming :-D Hugs, Dawn
It comes natural, what can I say ROFL
