Every couple months my mom's girl scout troop makes and serves dinner at a soup kitchen. I love to help with this. it is a great feeling knowing that we can give a warm homecooked meal that they might not have had in a while.

A volunteering opportunity that I am very passionate about is working with your local library's Literacy component. In Tallahassee, FL there are several different components depending on your time and schedule you could work with families, children after school (helping them with their school work), there is also the English as a second language (ESOL) group. A great opportunity to look at.
