29-Day Giving Challenge

from my neice:
All things that can be pushed through a letter box are good.
Names taken completely at random from a phone book are good (for cards, small gifts, even a gift token if we feel rich.)
Nice/funny messages or jokes left under windscreenwipers are good.
Flowers given to unlikely looking people are very good.
Chocolate left/hidden where it isn't normally found is good.
Books finding new owners are good...

Now me again:
I thought about making a baking a batch of fairy cakes (cupcakes in US) and distributing them as "Very happy unbirthday" cakes. --be great if you worked in an office or something! (sneakily , of course)
Is anyone retiring or leaving ? How about getting everyone who knows them to add to the list "What I'll miss about You"
I got served in a sort of diner by a really nice girl, and I was going to leave her a little tip when I thought NO, if I was in a better restaurant , I'd have left a much bigger tip for someone who was not half as obliging and friendly. So I left a bigger tip and she came and told me I'd made a mistake. I told her no, she deserved it and she came and told me all about her training and she was so proud of herself! It was just lovely.
give a smile to someone grumpy.
Do I dare do the Free Hugs thing that someone had a link for? Have any of you?

Nice list of ideas Gerry, thanks for sharing them :)
what great ideas! I have not tried the free hugs but that would really push me out of my comfort zone. maybe i should try it!
I work in a childcare center in a Infant Classroom. ( I have been teaching infants for 12 years) Some of our little ones start at 6 weeks old. When new mothers are having a hard time dropping off for the first time I always offer a hug and let them know that they can call me and my team anytime. So I guess I give "free hugs" all the time. :) I have not started the 29 day challenge yet. But I can't wait to start.
