Pay it forward...
I suggested this for a Christmas party, I don't know where the idea came from I believe I participated in this form of giving long ago.....but it was a hit and I thought I would pass it along for those that have never heard the idea before.
In lieu of exchanging gifts with my friends at our holiday gathering I suggested we each bring $1, $5, $10 dollar bills or whatever could be afforded without strain. A bag was passed around to each person and they placed their money (one bill for each pass) into the bag and pass it on to the next person. The process would be repeated until all the money was "collected".When the bag was "full" it was passed on and each person withdrew a bill. The bag was passed until all the money was gone. With the money each person had in hand you were to pay it forward - pay for the person behind you at Starbucks, pay the bridge toll for the car behind you or make a donation of all the money to one person or organization etc. Your choice on how to give. I had so much fun doing this I can't wait to do it again. I hope you give it a try and enjoy it as much as I did.

I love the idea that you first give your bill to the pot, and then receive the gift of a bill to pass on to someone else.
I belong to several groups on Meetup.com, so I will suggest this for one or more of the groups to do.
