I have been doing something of the same lines with gratitude rocks.  What are you using to write and paint with ?

The kids and I were puppy-sitting over the weekend. Since it was sunny, warm, and beautiful on Sunday (unheard of in Maine in March!!!) we decided to take the dog for a nice long walk on Ferry Beach and collected some rocks. Can't wait to paint some kind words on them and pass them along to friends. Thanks again for a wonderful idea!

These are lovely, particularly the insects. What sort of paint to you use and do you varnish them?

We have been spreading the Kindness Rocks in Huntsville, AL. On one side we write Kindness Rocks. On the other side, we write Live kindly! Pass it on. Sometime we get more creative-- we add rocking guitars, a rocking horse, a rocket, & a variety of humorous hallmarky sayings, like when you carrot enough to live kindly from a carrot. Each of us has done a minimum of 15 rocks and then we have to find at least one other person to carry on & spread the rock painting. Then we place the rocks all kinds of places, for them to be discovered eventually.

Your kindness was a wonderful kindness to us-- we had a lovely friendship evening with dinner, centering around decorating rocks.

Thank you for sharing this idea! It is alive and spreading in the deep but cold south.
