Giving Days 24-25-26

Friday was tough - I gave my dog an entire extra walk. Yesterday I gave my friend a book with different patterns for beading rings - beading is a hobby of hers, and today I made a chocolate peanut butter brownie dessert for my extended family's dinner. I also gave away three like-new throw pillows that just didn't quite match my family room.

Giving Day 23

Today's give was the DVD collection of West Wing Season 2; I left it out on the counter for my husband to find this morning before work. I found it at Half-Price books yesterday and was so tickled! He was pleased, but said he can't watch it until he has Season 1 - what does it matter?! He has seen them all anyhow. Oh well.

Yesterday was an easy one - two graduation parties. For my cousin I made a green bean salad and gave him a laundry basket full of food, paper products, and toiletries for college. Today I plan to call an old friend from college.

Today's give should have been quite simple and wasn't, but was a good one for me. We have rarely spoken to our elderly next door neighbors. The husband used to walk the dog twice daliy and we would say hello, but he always acted as if it was our first meeting. It became apparent last summer that he had dementia, and for him, it WAS our first meeting... every day. The wife I never saw. Hubby day! I bought a desk drawer organizer as a surprise for my husband's new desk (he was lamenting the fact that he didn't have one) and I bought him blackberries, which I usually don't get him because of the price.

Today I brought blowpops and tootsie pops to the kids in the Young Writers group I help with at my library. And I made panna cotta for the aunts, but that was me selfishly looking to use up buttermilk ;-)

Today I have another service gift planned; A friend of mine is doing Weight Watchers and is very bored with eating, so I offered to have her over to cook several dishes from the WW cookbook. I got all the ingredients and anything else we needed and she'll be here to cook!

Yesterday, Day 20, was unremarkable. I gave a huge pile of canning coupons to the library group I attend - they were appreciative, but not a biggie. Then, TODAY, a lady from that group called me at 8am asking if I would like tickets to Love Changes Everything, an Andrew Lloyd Webber review that's in town.
