I'm back. I took a year off from many things and 29-gifts was one of them. My life had turned completely upside down and I had to clear my plate. Much has happened since I've been away from 29-Give. This month has been wonderful. I've had many writing successes. My novel, Beautiful Wreck, made it to the semi-finals in Amazon's novel 2009 Breakthrough Novel Contest. There were 10,000 entries. Mine made it to the top ten before being knocked out. I guess you could say it's kind of like being in the last five couples on Dancing With The Stars. ;) This has generated some interest from publishers. My agent is working her tail off. Since I last wrote, I've had exciting news. At the end of May, I found out that my novel, Beautiful Wreck, was a semi-finalist in Amazon's Breakthrough Novel Contest. The contest begins with 10,000 entries. My novel made it all the way to the last fifty and I believe the last ten. I have a publisher interested and my agent is working her head off. Good stuff for a writer. I have been asked to speak at Scribbers Writing Retreat on St Simons Island this August. I will also speak again next year.… Continue

Wow a year, it's hard to believe. Much has happen since this time last year and I've come a long way. I've learned that giving can become a way of life, a habit I use everyday without evening thinking. What really amazes me is how life changed since I began to give in a conscious way. Doors opened; my attitude changed; I softened around the edges; my writing became more magical.

So today as I write in my journal about my giving, I give thanks for this site. Go Cami!

I've been on a roll when it comes to giving. What I love is the fact that I automatically look for things to like in people, even the people I did't like a whole lot. This is a huge change for me. When someone approaches me with what I formally called an attitude. I look for ways to reach out emotionally to the person. They look shock to receive this response.
