So much has happened since I last could catch up on this website and boy have I missed it!!! I still however try to do my give a day - and it works - you get what you give. The economy in South Africa has hit us hard - although Dennis is a qualified professional (land and engineering surveyor), it does not count much in the society of the day in South Africa any more. I have been extremely busy and my biggest give so far was to assist friends for the past two weeks with their flower business; between two days of "flu" and an 18th birthday party for my son. My friends needed someone to look after their flower/gift shop whilst they went off to do some marketing and research some suppliers and their usual help went off to do the flowers at an event in Cape Town. Easter Monday, Day 10 Today I have given Dennis time out to go and see his brother and family on his own. What do I get in return some me time and quality time with Rachel. We had a luverly day chilling at home - me playing scrabble and Rach watching a DVD. Daniel phoned to say he had caught a HUGE fish and everyone is happy!!!Day 11, back to the grindstone. - Why I'm choosing to give:
- Unbeknown to me I have been doing this for some time now not even realising that I was doing it, although I may not have been doing it on a daily basis - I love life and have also been given a second chance having survived cervical cancer and many other personal traumas over the past few years that I need to feel part of the universe again.
- What I'd most like to receive:
- The chance to spend two weeks on holiday in Greece with my 14 year old daughter!!!
- How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
- Read about it somewhere and then saw book in bookstore and purchased it as a gift to myself!
- About me:
- I live with my life partner and have two children. A son who is turning 18 and daughter who is 14. My children are my life and I assist my partner in his office. I love music, theatre, reading, movies and the beach!!
