- I am an English teacher at a middle school in a suburb of Los Angeles. I hate wasabi but love sushi. I want to learn to play the guitar. I have a funny cluster of freckles on my cheek that look like an anchor. I love my family and friends, but wish some of them lived closer.

My boyfriend and I were heading up north to visit his family for the holiday. I spent the majority of the morning running around, trying to get all of our errands done before leaving for the weekend. While I was at CVS, I was asked to donate money to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and I did. Although we do not have much money, this small monitary donation felt like the right thing to do. I took a paperbag full of non-perishable goods to the local fire station, which is a drop off location that helps support the LA Regional Food Bank (http://www.lafightshunger.org). But, as I arrived at the fire station, there was no one to be found. I waited outside for a few minutes before ringing the doorbell to the station. In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
