Its such a busy time of year and I imagine especially hard for those that work in retail. This morning I stopped by the local book store because a book I ordered as a gift had come in. There were two women working and loooong lines. When it was my turn, the cashier had to go to the back to get the book. She explained that hey were short staffed. The biggest gift that I’ve received is a shift in my perception; how I view things and situations. It’s allowed me to find the good in everything. The day to day stuff has new meaning; waiting for a car to back up out of a parking spot, in turn opened a closer one to the store, a day of rain turned into a day of cuddling on the couch and watching Christmas movies.

Mine is a story of resistance. I read Cami’s story in Yoga Journal and felt drawn to it, yet dragged my feet to commit. I came up with dozens of reasons why I shouldn’t do it; thanksgiving, my son’s b-day, the upcoming Christmas holidays, starting up a new massage therapy business, the list goes on and on.
