My teen-age daughter is in a therapeutic boarding school, recovering from a very self-destructive spiral of behavior. I don't get to spend time with her very often but on a recent visit I brought her the "29 Gifts" book to read. By the end of my 3-day visit she had read 1/2 the book and decided she was going to get on board with the challenge. I've been noticing how many shopkeepers, cashiers and other retail workers have seemed really stressed and overworked with the holidays and all. I'm sure they're happy to have jobs but still it must be exhausting to deal with the crowds of shoppers all day. Lately when I go in to shop, I take a moment to ask them "How are you doing?" and they seem really touched that someone actually cares how THEY are doing. I have decided that giving is going to be my way of life. The joy is so overwhelming. And what I have been getting back just blows me away. If I could describe the biggest change that has occurred in my life in less than 2 weeks of giving, I would say the flow of love and joy have increased tenfold- if you could actually measure such things, that is.

I am so grateful!

I notice that everyone is giving ME things now. That's the way the cycle of giving flows! I have nothing in mind to give but as I say every day, my eyes and ears are open. I'll let you know later what opportunities arise.
