That is one lucky cat to have found someone who is as caring as you are. I bet he'll be back to his new "safe haven". Even if he will not be your forever friend, at least now, when he needs it the most, he has you for protection and caring thoughts.

It's Friday!! and it's snowing!!! I gave a bag of M & M's to a coworker who had a lousy week. I told her that I knew her week was stressful on several levels and I hoped to start her weekend out on a "sweet" note.

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
When I was a kid, my sister and I lived with our aunt and uncle after our mother died. I remember being so grateful for my aunt, that I went to a local store and spent a very long time picking out just the right "something special" to buy to say thank-you to her. The feeling of that day has remained with me for 48 years. Somehow, during the years after that day, I got jadded by life, am afraid to spend money and don't give very freely. I want to recaputre that feeling of joy in the giving and I'd like to experience it every day.
What I'd most like to receive:
As bad a "giver" as I've been, I'm also a lousy receiver. Starting today, and with a grateful heart, I am totally open to receiving all that the Universe has to give to me.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Reading 29 Gifts after seeing Cami on The Today Show.
About me:
I am blessed to have a loving and giving partner, two wonderful adult and independent children, the best sister any girl could ask for and two of the world's cutest dogs who entertain us daily. I've worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years. I enjoy biking, weekly exercise classes and reading.

Days 7 & 8

On Day 7 I my give was to myself. I bought a yoga mat and DVD (a splurge for me right now). On Day 8 I shoveled my next door neighbor's sidewalk. He's 's quite capable of shoveling himself but thought he might have gone skiing, and thought he might appreciate a clean sidewalk when he got home.

Day 5 - Gift of Time

Today seemed like the gift of time. Spent time with a friend today just listening to her about issues in her life that she's experiencing now. Also spent time with an older adult woman who needed help figuring out her medical bills. Made phone calls with her and found out that her bills were all covered by insurance plans. (As an aside: She's the woman I want to be when I grow up - she's nearly ninety, dressed to the nines, makeup done perfectly and quite spry. I have known adults who are young… Continue

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
