Day 5

Fell off the wagon for a couple days there...not that I didn't "give" anything, but...it wasn't really an "above-and-beyond," kinda thing. I "gave" my daughter a nice Dinner of Her Choice the night before she left for a week's vacation...and yesterday I "gave" myself permission to relax a little in the evening and not work all night, like I usually do.Today, before I could even think of what to give, I had the opportunity to help out a mom at the thrift store...she didn't speak english and was…See More

Day 4

So, my work friend who gave me the lunch noodles yesterday, her daughter is a horse lover who just started riding last year. I brought in some horse magazines for her - sort of a recycling gift, as they have just been in my house, I don't even know where the subscription came from! So, today, I was buying a dollar scratch-off ticket with my morning coffee...and thought, why I don't get one for my new office-mate at work?? So that was my "give" of the day. A dollar and a dream, baby...a dollar and a dream.

Ya gotta love the ease of digital donations! Today I donated a couple bucks to a woman who hosts a couple photography lists/forums I'm on - she has helped me so much with my own photography, and she helps many others as well. She's trying to save up for a new lens and has a little donation widget on one of her photography tutorial blogs. I thought my first "give" should be to the Featured Cause, so today I made a donation through ChipIn towards Mbali's Trip. I think if I'm going to ask others to be involved with something, I should put my money where my mouth is, and make a meaningful contribution myself.

I've been spreading the word about the 29-Day Giving Challenge, and am hoping others will see it as exciting an opportunity as I do.
