Yesterday I let go of something i've been holding on to for a long time. Yesterday my gift was to myself. That's all i'm really going to say about that.
Today, however, my gift was to the 29 Gifts Book Club. Being laid off over the summer has given me a lot of extra time to rebuild my love for reading. So today I had lunch with a friend. We'll call him Spoon...which is actually what his name is in my phone :)
A little background...Spoon and I were in the Navy together. Our friendship was an unorthodox, though condoned, one as he is enlisted and I was an officer. An update from Day 1. My girlfriend got home a little after midnight after texting to extend her time out and about. I remained calm and even though I was discouraged that she had chosen to stay out, I maintained composure even when she got home, remaining true to my gift. Man, that took a lot.
