I'm sure you made a big difference in these people's days. You really need to rest with the flu - and you have made that possible.

I've been babysitting for a family for about 6 years now, and today I took the kids to a movie as their Christmas present. I like taking them out for an activity rather than buying them meaningless gifts. We talk the whole way to the theatre in the…

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
This year some things have happened that have made me very wrapped up in myself. When you have bad things happening in your life it is very easy to forget that other people have needs too. I hope this will kick start my way into 2010 with a new attitude and a fresh start.
What I'd most like to receive:
- Bonding time with a good friend
- A letter from someone
- A plant, handmade gift, or just something special that someone saw and thought of me
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?

Day 8

Today I had a few flu-ish people in my life. I was sent home from work because I work out of my boss' home and she was sick in bed, and my best friend Kayla was also home with the flu. I made soup for my boss and brought it over for lunch, and for Kayla I brought over some movies and video games to keep her occupied on her day home from school. Hopefully I made their days a little easier!

Days 6 & 7

Sunday I hosted a 'Sinterklaas Day' party. All of my friends from church are mennonite and I decided to give them a hint of Dutch. I think it went over well! About 30 people showed up compared to the normal 10. I baked Dutch treats, and got my hands on any other Dutch things (old DUTCH chips lol).

Monday I completely forgot about this. I am trying to think of something I may have given to someone. I studied with 2 people from my English class and gave them all my notes to use for their review.… Continue

Day 5

Today I went to a Christmas party. We got together a bunch of girls from high school and did a gift exchange. So my obvious give for today was the gift that I gave to the exchange which I think the recipient was quite happy with.

I also stepped up and offered to drive 2 of the other girls to the party. Usually I would wait for someone to volunteer, but I called all of the girls in my area and asked if they wanted a ride - I was even out of gas. It's not something I would always do.

b>Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!
