I missed a day of giving. And, i am supposed to start over. but i am still going to finish this cycle...I have two days left. Then, I am going to re-group and start over.

this week i started one morning with a pay it forward starbucks give. it was so fun. i was actually bummed when they gave me a free coffee for next time because i did it. i didn't really want it, but took it as receiving. But, it really started my day off in an awesome way and I continued to have a good… Continue

catch up blog on giving.

on Friday I did not want to give money or a material gift, instead I wanted to be open to giving during the day. I found myself, like most days, continuously giving my patience and time. I tried very hard to connect positively with the students in my classes that are actually the most high maintenance and require the most out of me. Earlier I was complaining/seeking counsel from a colleague about one student and instead of carrying that into class, i just tried to reach out to him through humor… Continue

i've been bad with blogging. it's not good. i need to refocus on my givingchallenge. I am still giving, but I've gotten cocky and don't think I need the blog. But, OH, yes, I DO, BECAUSE it really does make a difference and I think I do MORE giving because of it.

So, recap of giving this week

monday-bought raffle ticket at yoga to support adopt a family; gave to Salvation Army kettle

tuesday-personally bought more gifts for Giving Tree; went with administrator to buy gifts… Continue

dec 5 i gave the gift of time, money, and my mouth shut.

we went out with a friend and his new girlfriend and we went to a place for a very expensive dinner. my husband wanted to pick up the tab and though we talked about it, I tried my best to support his desire to pay the entire bill--way more than we should afford. However, he reminded me of what this person does for him, so I thought of how Cami talked about giving away the one thing you are most afraid of losing. So, adios… Continue

You are doing great with your gives. We naturally become more open and aware to our gives by virtue of being here blogging and reading and encouraging others.

Thanks for the comment -- it was a great time. But I am still recovering. My husband and I can cook for a crowd. We once made a dinner for 200 scouting families and served them all. I aways say we could run a soup kitchen. And the crazy thing about it is - we'd both rather just eat cereal.

You are so right, Cathleen! There is no wrong way to create a mandala. I teach mandala workshops and tell that to my students all the time! I'm so glad to hear that you get such peace from them. Keep up the good work!

Hi Cathleen - yes, Round 7! I take a break between rounds ... and then start on the first day of a month! I've been around for about 18 months, so I've taken off quite a few months! It's an amazing thing to do... I've done some different things with each round and my life has grown. Sometimes in small, but always in significant, ways.

Cathleen, I see that you are new to the challenge as well. I don't know anyone personally that is doing this challenge. I was thinking maybe we could agree to being a support for each other during this challenge. I think it will be good to have a buddy during the challenge. Please don't feel pressured or obligated. It was just a thought. Thanks

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
