Today, breast cancer has been on my mind. It's shocking to me to realize that I have 4 people close to me, still living, who have battled breast cancer. I have several others who died from this disease. this simply cannot go on! A cure MUST be found for this debilitating, killing disease. I had received an AVON booklet, and AVON supports breast cancer research through the sale of several items. I ordered their breast cancer bracelet for myself and for my four friends. I wasn't sure what I might do today. I know myself well enough to know that I can bring HUGE ENTHUSIASM to something, then can peter out, and I don't want to do that--I want this 29Gifts journey to become a habit in my life. when I got to work, I discovered that some ecard company (or someone in the greeting card business) has declared today to be Send-A-Hug Day! Today is my Day One in the 29Gifts Journey. I feel excited, inspired, and joyful at having giving as my focus for today!

From the OperationBeautiful.com website, I was given the idea of posting anonymous "you are beautiful" notes, so I'm about to do that. I work at a large university, and if there's anywhere where women's body image is too much of a focus, it's in college! So these notes will go on the mirror in the women's bathroom.
