Days 4, 5, 6 and 7

I have my Mother stay with me so much of my giving over the last four days has involved her; sharing my space with her and spending time with her. She is 85 and has trouble seeing and hearing so communication can sometimes be an issue. Yesterday, Thanksgiving day we went to my son and daughter-in-law's for dinner and I gave them the two cans of cranberry sauce I had in the cupboard as they had forgotten to get some. Today I plan on sending a check to Meals on Wheels.

Days 2 and 3

On my second day the universe seemed to be trying to show me all of the giving opportunities around me, but not in a way that I could respond. I ended up the day by not finding anything I could do so I decided to spend 30 minutes praying first for the lady I'd seen in the road, then for anyone needing help and then for my…See More

Day 1 - November 21, 2009

I'd been thinking about starting the 29 days of giving ever since I finished the book 2 weeks ago but this morning finally seemed like a good day to start. Yesterday was my birthday so I'm starting a new "Cheryl" year. I decided to let the day unfold and see if a giving opportunity presented itself. I went to see my Mother and as usual stopped along the way to pick up her groceries. That didn't really feel like the "gift" for the day as its something I do anyway. When I pulled into the parking…See More

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

Mary

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.
