- This Christmas seems to feel so grim. So this past year I've been trying to simplify and just find inner peace.
- What I'd most like to receive:
- My children lost their father two months ago and I'd like to be able to show them that giving is a way of healing. I want them to have peace.

- About me:
- I am a divorced woman with two teenagers and work at a local university. These past few years have emotionally beat me up. My daughter got in some trouble and I sent her to live with my parents and have a new start. My son is still with me and we have a good time but like the rest of the country money is tight.
I seem to be going to more funerals than normal. I've lost two grandparents and my ex husband (my kids dad) in the past 18 months. My boyfriends father and his brother both have terminal cancer. I feel like I'm dragging myself uphill carrying rocks. First I started getting rid of stuff and the less I have the less cluttered my life felt.
I saw a newspaper article on 29 gifts and it made sense. So I want to go from being numb to feeling joy again.

I took my kids, my mother a friend of my son's to dinner on Sunday. I bought a few lottery tickets from a civic organization then gave them out. I decorated the common area in my apartment building, checked on my neighbor that's very sick and getting ready to cook for my department at work. This is Norman. I've adopted him so he wouldn't go to a kill shelter plus it's good for my son that lost his father two months ago. It will be the first Christmas without his dad. My friend calls it Kitten therapy.

A woman that I have known for years sent me this link. they are giving $10 gift certificates for restaurants for free. Of course the minumum purchase is 25 and it doesn't include alcohol.
Another woman at work gave me this website. Duncan Doughnuts is sending Free Coffee to the troops.
