My Mom wants to know every detail of everything! I love her very much. She keeps a track of every gift she has given me and what I am doing with it. I too had to hide from her but now I can't. She is 94 years old and has cancer. She still remembers…

- i am a 49 YO female who lives in East TX. i have three children, two stepchildren, and nine grandchildren altogether. in a couple of months i will be a "great grandma" believe it or not! i am an avid reader and i love to make quilts.
i envision a world where people will reach out to each other instead of building walls. i believe that the world is moving rapidly towards that ideal and i want to do my part. one person at a time, it will happen.

Two Days' Worth

Giving to Mama
my husband and i live in a travel trailer parked in my Mother in law's yard. we share the bills and help her out as it is getting harder for her to do the things she used to. this cold snap has intensified her aches and pains and she has been complaining of her knee hurting, so when we were going to Walmart i called her and asked her if she wanted me to pick anything up for her. as it happened, she needed cereal and milk and dog food. we got it for her and saved her a trip to the store.

Good Enough
i had big plans to donate to a good cause today, but when i checked my bank account i discovered that i only had a couple of bucks left until the first. so that was out. what to give, what to give?

it was a dark and stormy day...
it was a cold and rainy day today in my part of Texas, so i mostly stayed inside. i did get out and ride with my friend Brenda to get her check, 60 miles round trip. she didn't want to go alone so we gifted each other with our respective company :-)

Starting again (again!)
it's been about a year since i first joined 29 Gifts. in the beginning i was really gung-ho and gradually i got less mindful, more haphazard about things. predictably, the positive effects on my life dwindled in direct proportion to the effort i was putting in. so, i have decided to make a fresh start for my "anniversary". after all, if it's worth doing it's worth doing right.

- I'm the same way, Dawn ... harder on myself than anyone else and so often feeling like I'm not enough. Need to follow the advice I give others.
I think I will enjoy my day today. My mom is visiting. Also, I am going to see a play that the highschoolers are putting on here in town; I have a cousin in it.
