Giving IS the Joy, IS the blessing, IS the purpose!

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Because I have found, throughout my entire life, that giving IS the joy, IS the blessing, IS the purpose. It's a privilege to be in the position to give. And each of us has been given the best gift of all, LIFE, the opportunity to experience sensation, to experience giving and receiving love. All is well in the world when people think of those they love more than they think of themselves. When I give to people that I may think are strangers, I find how many beloved ones exist in the Universe.
What I'd most like to receive:
The opportunity to share my life fully with all the beloved ones in my life and to give abundant Love into the web of Life. I already have this, and participating in this is only verifying what I know.

Thank you for the opportunity to be mindful of giving.

Then said a rich man, "Speak to us of Giving."

And he answered:

You give but little when you give of your possessions.

It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

For what are your possessions but things you keep and guard for fear you may need them… Continue

Day #1 giving was easy, because I had already planned to give

Posted on December 10, 2008 at 6:00pm 3 Comments

I work at the University of Washington in Seattle, and every year (around this time) the Campus Business Professional Women's Group collects donations for New Beginnings (http://www.newbegin.org), an organization that provides services to those whose lives have been affected by domestic violence – physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. It is a cause I truly wish to support, and the organization provides a wish list! So I was able to box up a blanket, some family-friendly DVDs and flower vases. I… Continue
