A word about falling off the wagon...
I'm probably asking an aburd question, but ever had such ugly PMS that you felt like there was no choice but to zip yourself up in that proverbial straight-jacket until the hormones leveled out? I have friends that have horrible depression and other ugly PMS-related symptoms every month. Some are on medication to combat taking a ride on the Crazy Train every month. - A seeker just trying to find her niche on this journey we all share. A single mom to a fabulously gifted and "differently abled" 10 y/o son. Our family also includes a one year old spirited yellow labrador retriever, which we intend on certifying as an animal assisted therapy dog. Was in a wee bit of a funk today. One part personal and the other part focused on Haiti. It hits me pretty hard when there is devastating disaster no matter where it is in the world. It's these kinds of days that I wish I had run off and joined the Peace Corps in my early twenties. But then I wouldn't have had my son or quite the same experiences that make me who I am today. I was led to a website that is for ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics) recovery. I registered to participate in their online meetings and seek support as I begin to work the steps. I immediately came across a post, which was actually from the person who manages the website. Turns out he and his wife own a couple of recovery transition homes in Wilmington, NC. I didn't have to read past the second paragraph before I was reaching for my checkbook...and $100 came out of me without hesitation. I… Continue

- Ordinarily I am not either but the first time I go to a country I like a bit of a guided tour. After that, I'd rather be on my own. I like to explore and not overly concerned if I get lost. A map will also help you meet so many people.

Elly Rose-Tech Support said… - Thanks for your comments on the indigo bunting. It had rammed into our storm door and was unconscious. Paul and I were able to give it Reiki. It stayed in our yard all summer. I took the pictures of him on the steps, but the picture of the bird in the tree is from a picture I found online. If you are interested I blogged about this here. The story and the pictures are about half way through the blog. I didn't even know what kind of bird this was until the next day a friend sent me an email identifying the bird for me I am more than happy to share this little bird with you.
