Today was closer to home-a night out for my husband and letting my in-laws watch my son, something they rarely get to do as I'm a SAHM.

Yesterday we cleaned out closets and cupboards and took five bags to the local Outreach. So rewarding, just the smile I got at the center.

I'm feeling really stretched and need to focus on giving that isn't just money. This is going to take more planning and heart but I'm ready

Today's giving is a really simple one: I painted the name of my friends' newborn on a little rock to match their own outside the front door

Also, an easy one--I put www.thechildhealthsite.com on my favorites. It's easy to just click once a day and sponsers send money for causes.

It's getting easier. I read an article about a young man named Barton Brooks and Guerilla Aid and decided to send $30 to GlobalColors.org.

Today, I gave my in-laws a bottle of ChocoVine. I have been so stingy with them and I need to reopen my heart for my son's sake.

As my first act of giving, I fed treats to a friend's guinea pigs as a favor. It's something I was going to do anyway. It wasn't enough.

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
I want to rethink the act of giving during this time of year and want it to be heart-felt again. I feel tied to a cycle of money...I want to do as much giving as possible without using money, without adding to consumer culture.
What I'd most like to receive:
Calm in my mind, and peace in my heart.
How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?
Yoga Journal had an article about Cami that inspired me.
About me:
I am a mom of an 18-month old shining little boy. We spend our days together discovering the world.

These stones are great. The type of things I love - the "sayings" are the best. I only wish we could purchase the stones. sincerely Rebecca J Karras
