Cycling On - Biting My Tongue!

It has struck me in the last few days that often our gift can be what we don't do instead of what we do.  It puts me in mind of a short children's joke I knew in my youth: A boy goes to his teacher and pleads, "Teacher, you would never blame me for something I didn't do, would you?" And the teacher replies, "Ofcourse not." And the boy answers back, "Good.  I didn't do my homework." My husband and I have been tackling a number of projects on top of my health issues, and his looking for a job to…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Healing; to create a better world; to practice what I preach; to create room to receive; at the suggestion of a dear friend; to open my heart; to help calm my mind and help me feel productive during a difficult time with my health and after losing my job
What I'd most like to receive:
Ultimately I would like to improve the world; and improve the quality of lives through a more peaceful and caring world; is it too corny to ask for World Peace? I don't know, I just know you won't get what you don't ask for...

Round Two - Journal?

Posted on March 16, 2011 at 12:13pm 4 Comments

I've started my Round Two, or maybe I should say I am post-Round One of the 29-Day Giving Challenge.  I have not been keeping a journal of my giving, which I thought would be okay, but I'm rethinking that.  My thinking was that giving and receiving should become part of the fabric of my life, and I do say Grace now every day, several times a day, to express my recognition of the abundance in my life.  During Grace, I also consider what it…

A Finish Line or Starting Line

Days 19 - 22: Blurred Lines Between Giving and Receiving

Posted on March 1, 2011 at 1:43pm 10 Comments

I think it a wonderful thing when the lines between giving and receiving become blurred because it indicates several important things.  First, it is likely in this stage that one's subconscious is now fulling taking part in the giving, so it has become "habitual" to be thoughtful and generous towards others.  Second, if you recognize that you are receiving when giving, then one is more likely to keep repeating that…
