Day 13

Today was a fairly okay day... My gifts were to my sister and my friends. I had some money and so I paid for a few things for them when we went downtown today. I also made an extra effort to be extra friendly to everyone I passed by today! It paid off when I smiled and said "Hello" to a woman walking down the street and she said "Hello, you ladies are looking lovely today." Ah, the hearts of some people!

I haven't been able to blog lately because I have been on vacation with my friend! I had a blast, and being taken on the trip was a gift in itself!So gift 9 was to my sisters friend. So, I'm a little bit hooked on leaving things on people's doorsteps... :-)Yesterday I wrote down a quote and left it on my neighbors doorstep.There is this woman who lives in my dad's apartment building who stands outside smoking a lot of the time. She always looks kind of sad and lonely. Today I gave service to a friend. One of our very good family friends was diagnosed with brain cancer a little under a year ago, and a few days ago his wife sent out a request for help around the garden. My sister and I went to their house this morning and helped weed their garden. It felt good to help such a deserving family.See More

Why I'm choosing to give:: Because I want to stop being so concerned with myself and my own problems, and start looking around and realizing that there is so much more out there than what is in my head.

How did you hear about the 29-Day Giving Challenge?: My mom

About me:: I am 16 years old. I love horseback riding, music, and dance. I love giving because it makes me feel like I am positively contributing to a persons life. I first heard about this from my mom who saw it on TV and I just finished the book which was so good and inspiring.
