Days 2-27, xs 4

Yep, the past 26 days look pretty much the same. They have mostly consisted of moving snow at two locations. Not to leave out multiple feedings for birds, squirrels and rabbits outdoors. When the wind chill registers --44, the outside creatures cannot keep their body heat up without a lot of food! Also some gives at different forums I frequent. Not telling other people what to do, just being a listening ear that can say "I hear you"....More gives via e-mails to relatives in their 80's who are…See More

Profile Information

Why I'm choosing to give:
Because I believe that coming from an inspired giving space is powerful for both giver and receiver. As an energetic being, I want to be part of that powerful reciprocity.
What I'd most like to receive:
Probably peace of mind, as I have 2 relatives in their 80's that I am trying valiantly to care for. I feel overwhelmed, as there are 2 of everything to do (2 yards, 2 homes, 2 sets of pets, etc). As you can guess, I am not keeping up. I choose to work from home via the computer, phone. I AM CLAIMING THAT I AM OFFERED A BOOK CONTRACT, WITH A HEALTHY ADVANCE!!

About me:
I'm a licensed clinical social worker/coach. I love reading about application of universal laws. I have rescued feral cats for some years. I enjoy feeding them @ sites where they live. I am able to trap, socialize, get cats vet tested and altered. Last step is placing them in loving homes. I AM enjoying seeing a shift in consciousness about spirituality, all life forms & the planet. I enjoy travel--beaches of NC being a favorite. I like almost all kinds of music, meeting new people and trying new foods. I love to read and write. My goal is to put my writing out there, instead of playing small.

Day 1, Round 4/Picking up Garbage

Posted on January 4, 2009 at 11:53am 0 Comments

Hey, today's give is picking up trash along the streets where relatives live. There were such strong winds that lots of garbage buggies blew open and spread loose contents in the streets. There's been a break in the weather, so I'm out in my yaktraks picking up trash. It's actually a give that'll perk up the entire street.....

I've also pulled a fridge out from the wall and cleaned out all the dust bunnies and cat fur.

Maybe I'll be a diva giver next week; today it's… Continue

Days 15-29, Round 3/Ongoing Gives to Relatives

Posted on January 3, 2009 at 2:17pm 2 Comments

It's been a busy 15 days since I posted last. My father is on his chemo now, which means he is really incapacitated. It's 3 times the dose he took previously, so he is kinda wiped out. He is trying to sort some of his stuff during the 2-4 hrs he is awake each day, so I am helping him with that.

Books for the public library are ready to go. Still processing clothes for the thrift shop where all the proceeds go for vet bills. It's a no kill shelter, so the shelter does have ongoing vet… Continue

Round 3, Days 2-14/Just Crazy Busy Caring for 3 disabled relatives

Posted on December 19, 2008 at 12:35pm 3 Comments

Daddy got his official confirmation today that he tested positive for recurrent lymphoma. He has been so weak and tired, as this is his second go round with the lung cancer.

I'm busy wrapping and shipping gifts for them. Also helping to sort thru clothes to donate to the thrift shop; all the proceeds go for vet bills. Since they don't get out much anymore, I managed to round up 100 garments yesterday. Today it's 50 so far. (Will also take a load of casual but warm clothes to the… Continue

Round 3, Day 1/Washing and Mending Clothes

Posted on December 6, 2008 at 10:30am 1 Comment

Helping my father get ready for 4 medical appts this week. Two are in town, so that's not a big deal. But the other two are out of state. So it involves getting his stuff together for 3 days days away from home, while the big dogs try to decide what to do with lung cancer that is no longer in remission. Plus assorted other complications...

So I do the part of making sure all his clothes are ready for his busy week. And assure him that all animals will be cared for, indoors and out.… Continue

My avatar is one of our kitties. Use to live on a farm and he was dumped on our porch, half starved and all his white fur was pink from something he got into. He is part Maine Coon and now is a real lounge cat and loves to pester me. I do cherish him.

Hi Bunny,
From I have read/heard, there are mixed reactions to the movie down under, but I can say, that Australia (the country) is breath takingly beautiful.
Drop in and say Hi sometime :)

I'll send you thoughts and prayers of encouragement. It's hard to care for sick parents. I cared for my mother when she was sick and it's hard to reverse the role. We think of our parents as our caregivers, not the other way around. That's so cool that you grew up in Nashville! I love living here. If you ever come back to visit, PLEASE let me know. I would love to meet you for coffee!
