March for Babies at Highland High School
April 25, 2010 from 10am to 12pm
The organization March of Dimes holds an annual walk in my town called the March for Babies. It is a walk to raise money for premature babies, research for mothers to have full pregnancies, and much more. Day 5
This was a wonderful day for giving. There were a bunch of small, mindful gives that I found. We're in a difficult chapter in my trig class, and I understand what we're learning. I took the time to sit with one of my classmates and help her with quite a few of the problems. We had our sectional swim meet today, and things were pretty intense. We get rub-downs with oil that makes us go faster in the water. We have to wear gloves so that the oil doesn't get on our hands. My friend forgot her…See More

I spent most of the day hanging out with friends on our day off of school. My mom called me from work, and she was clearly frustrated by the day she was having. She was really busy & mad and taking it out on me. I let her yell at me and get it out of her system without getting upset, myself. When she got home, she apologized to me. Thursday was the last day of school for me for the week. We have a 4-day weekend :) It was a give for myself. I was supposed to go to a friend's house, and I was running late and hadn't eaten dinner yet. I decided to take some time for myself and have a nice dinner and take a shower before I went. I felt a lot better when I got there and had a great time. Thursday I gave with peace.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with my giving blog. I get really busy and then I forget to keep track of what I'm giving and when I give it. This day was an especially terrible one for homework. I went to Panera with some friends to do homework together. Throughout the day, I had been helping classmates with schoolwork more so than usual. It was a pretty good day. When I got to school this morning, I decided that I would smile at and say hi to every custodian, lunch lady, and administrator that I saw. For the most part, I was very successful. I could see that they were happy to be noticed by one of so many apathetic teenagers. This made me pretty happy through much of the day.
