Cleaning at Work (Day 27 Round 4)

I cleaned the break room at work. Put all of the dishes away that we leave in the strainer, tidied up the table with all of the snacks on it, threw away old papers, put new papers in a neat stack. Just a simple gesture that takes a few minutes and I gave with joy!

Anonymous Notes (Day 26 Round 4)

During church service, I really listened to the preachers and the praise team and during the service, I wrote anonymous short notes on little pieces of paper, describing my appreciating for their gifts of speaking, compassion, music, etc...

After church, i put the notes in their employee mailboxes. It felt good to recognize someone's gifts to the world!

Dear John (Day 25 Round 4)

My college daughter was home for the weekend and she and my High school daughter went to see the movie, "Dear John" together. My gift was to pay for the movie and popcorn, my treat for my beautiful daughters! As soon as they got out of the movie, my high school daughter's boyfriend text her and broke up with her via text. Maybe I am just getting old or not in tune with how relationships come and go, but breaking up via text message? O my goodness, she was so upset, there is much crying right now… Continue

Go Red! (Day 24 Round 4)

In celebration of Women's Heart Awareness month for February, I wore a red shirt, a red pin, and a red coat! From everything I have read, statistics say that heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States and actually women have the higher %.

Someone asked me if I was celebrating Valentines Day early, and I explained why I was wearing red. Felt Great to spread public awareness.

Love (Day 23 Round 4)

It was my 21st wedding anniversary with my very wonderful husband! We work different shifts, but I had logged overtime, so I left early for some time to spend with him. Time to reconnect was priceless.

Dear Harrieet
Thank you for the red ribbon - lovely to receive a welcoming gift. Could you please tell me what the significance are of red ribbons, here? In South Africa, they mean compassion for those living with/affected by HIV & AIDS. Is it the same on this community? From the frequency with which they are used, I'm guessing they have a more general meaning here, perhaps?

Thanks to all of you who have been supporting me. I am out of the hospital, but am having some problems with my hands that make using the keyboard challenging and painful. Hopefully I'll be back to blogging more regularly here soon.
