Day 26 - Thanksgiving wishes.  On October 1, there were some Medicare changes about therapy reimbursement.  Long story short, we have to provide therapy on holidays now.  No holiday pay, which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.  (We never had it in the past when working holidays were optional.)  Schedules were adjusted so just the people who had to absolutely be seen on Thanksgiving were scheduled.  The 6 of us who were in this morning made the most of it and wished everyone we saw -…

Day 25 (Nov 23) - eggnog.  I shopped for Thanksgiving last Friday.  Hubby is typically out of town the weekend before Thanksgiving and he does the lion's share of the cooking.  Unfortunately, we just didn't communicate well about the menu and we didn't have the ingredients for the green bean casserole - which I didn't know he was even making.  So I trekked to the store to pick that up along with other ingredients and to buy some dishwasher detergent.  Except I forgot the detergent.  As far…

Helped out at another building for work today. One patient really touched me b/c the conversation was definitely one of an older woman with a younger woman. She's in her 80s and telling me about her 3 kids in their 60s, so she asks if I have kids. She tells me it's hard having young kids b/c all you want is the time to go to the bathroom by yourself and it made me realize that some things don't change about being a mom. Day 22- decluttered my room. My room could be a before shot of a clutter makeover. It's really not fair for me to ask the kids to clean up if I have piles on my floor. My goal is to clean up the floor so the kids can sleepover in the room in their sleeping bags in mid-December when DH is out of town for the weekend. Still a work in progress but it looks better.
