About me:
My hair color comes in a box....my personality does not! My personal life motto is: "I KEEP LAUGHING UNTIL IT GETS FUNNY!" I came up with this 11 years ago when i was first diagnosed with MS. Oh, how it has come in handy time and time again over the years! I see life through two pairs of glasses: 1. spiritual glasses; and 2. humor glasses. I am embracing 40, divorced and have a 7 yr old son. I am getting remarried next year. I was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor....so here goes my life motto again! I am a 15+ year sober recovering alcoholic. I live life one day at a time and I laugh every chance I get!

Support our Cause of the Month
In November, we're sponsoring a cause that has been started by fellow giver, Lubabat. We are so deeply touched and impressed by Lubabat's strength of character & spirit. Lubabat was diagnosed with MS in the mid 90s and then in August of 09, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Her reaction has been so inspirational - she is thriving through giving. She is hosting a Christmas Give and her theme is "going small to make a big impact" We have named her our November Cause of the Month and would be grateful for your support!

Happy giving!

Mary

P.S. Don't miss our handy 29-Day Giving Calendar or our cute Gift Note to accompany your gifts.

It was a pretty good day. When I got to school this morning, I decided that I would smile at and say hi to every custodian, lunch lady, and administrator that I saw. For the most part, I was very successful. I could see that they were happy to be no…

One of the lessons I think is key from the book is the idea that the gifts don't have to be huge. Small gifts can work too. I was very tired today, and didn't have time/energy to plan or come up with a gift that required much effort or thought. It s…

When I woke up this morning, the buzz from yesterday's events had worn off. I was tired and cranky and in no mood to give. My poor dog didn't even get her daily walk. On the way to work, at 1pm I still hadn't given much thought to my second gift. I…

What a thoughtful gift! I'm somewhat addicted to magazines and I'm always happy to find one to read at lunch in our breakroom. I need to start bringing in my magazines to work instead of recycling them. I'm going to log off and round up some magazin…

I like the idea of giving 29 gifts to your daughter. I think this will be much more powerful than you may think! How wonderful for her to have a daily gift of a hug, a few minutes of time, or a small reminder that you love her. This is a really good…

Yesterday I offered 25 $ for a cancer collect initiated by my co-worker - Had not been the 29-gift challenge, I would have given less, because of my donation to Haiti - But since my company doubles the donation if it's a minimum of 25$, I did the ef…
