Day 16: makin' them look good

Day 16, February 7th
Yesterday's gift was to my employer. Yesterday was Sunday, but our funders are coming to check on us and one of the things I was asked to take care of was a fairly complicated Excel workbook filled with references and formulae. I was so swamped, though, that I did not get to it. This is not the result of me slacking off and not getting to my work. Days 14 & 15, take 2: Operation Beautiful & Parking Tickets

Day 14
Friday I decided to use Operation Beautiful as inspiration. In case you haven't heard about Operation Beautiful, the basic idea is for women to leave anonymous notes for other women. The notes are supposed to say something to the effect of "You are beautiful." If you go to www.operationbeautiful.com, there are a lot of fun ways to do it.

I've decided to pick up where I left off, meaning today is once again Day 13 for me. Thanks to everyone who advised after my last post. :)

Giftless Days 13, 14, & 15 - how do you decide if you're going to release the energy & start over or pick up & continue?

Hey, Everyone,
On Day 13, we got into a minor traffic accident (everyone was insured, no one was hurt, and both cars were driveable).
Day 14, I spent hours and hours and hours in the ER for severe abdominal pain (I'm out and A-OK)
Day 15, today, I stayed home from work, lay on the couch, and let my husband take excellent care of me.
So that makes three days of no gifts, which is especially unfortunate since the copy of Cami's book I was going to give… Continue

Day 10 - hubby timeEvery now and again, my husband breaks form and gets a little clingy. That was Friday. Not much of a talker, he tends to just come to me wherever I am and wrap himself around me and stay put. So my gift Friday was to be there for him. No questions, no judgment, no can-it-wait-a-minute. Just hugs back, a listening ear, and a place to unburden. And chinese food. mmmm.It's weird and maybe I'm just wishing, but I felt like I actually took his stress away from him for the night.…See More

Day 7: January 26, 8:22pmI started today with zero ideas on what to do for a gift. I found a story on CNN.com while patrolling the news websites for some scrap of good news. In it, a woman discusses her idea, called Loose Change the World, and encourages people to take their spare change and pass it on to strangers.
