I'm a little behind on my blogging so here goes: **Day 12 of the Giving Challenge: I let a co-worker leave work a little early and I stayed so she could go to the Twins pre-season game.**Day 13--My boyfriend and I both love Chelsea Handler so I surprised him by taking him to her stand up show at the Northrup Saturday nite. Yesterday~ I talked with a friend of mine who is going through a break-up and just offered my ear to let her vent. She is very hurt still and looking for ways to find closure. After listening to her I advised her to pray about it and told her I hoped she finds her peace. With our computer savy world we often send emails vs. letters because its quicker and easier. Today I wrote letters to my Grandparents (who are all still alive) telling them what they mean to me and what influence they've had in my life. I also included a prayer card with each and a copy of a 4 generation picture I had taken with each. My grandparents, my parent (my parents are divorced), myself and my son. What a keepsake these pictures are to me and now they can enjoy them as well :)See More

I work in a Cardiology Clinic and I had a patient today who was having increased shortness of breath and lived on the 3rd floor of an appt that had no elevator. This patient also had no car so she has to walk to get groceries and find a ride to all her doctors appts. I was letting her talk and listening to her hardships. Today I decided to buy a book for a co-workers neice who is 7 and had her tonsils out yesterday. She is re-couperating at home and spending a lot of time on the couch so I got her a Shrek book to read while she's home. My co-worker has been thoughful on so many occasions and she seemed so grateful for such a small gesture. Her smile made me smile and that made my day :)See More

I re-connected with a former coach/teacher on Facebook recently and today I wrote her and told her what a great teacher she was and what fond memories I have of participating in gymnastics. She wrote back and told me I made her day and that as a retired teacher she doesn't hear that too often. Such a small gesture to reach out and say "Thank-you" to a coach or teacher who invested time in your education & future.…

I cut my hand yesterday which required stitches and my boyfriend has been very helpful with changing my bandage and helping me wash my hair and helping with cooking meals. Today I decided to stop and pick up his favorite cheesecake to show my appreciation for all his help.…

Delete Discussion Hello! I'm Gianna Jasinski and I'm new to the site! I'm 13 yrs. old and I love to swim and play the piano. I'm in the 8th gr. and working on a project called "29 day challenge for kids". In the program I'm in we are required to complete an Independant Investigation (II), which requires you to come up with an idea that meets some need. When I came across Cami's interview on NBC in the fall, I was truly inspired and thought I could do a 29 Day Challenge for Kids! I thought it was a great idea and began my journey! I contacted 3 schools, which totaled over 100 kids, and invited them to take the challenge. I made daily logs for them and asked them to complete some reflection ques. after the challenge. For the ones, who have finished the challenge, they have found a great impact. One girl says she is now more tolerant of people and more open-minded. Some kids claim it was a "wake-up call to other people and your surroundings". Others say "It's like picking people off their feet". They've found they're now focusing more on others and reaching out to people. Currently, I'm writing a short book about the kids' experiences and their feedback. When I'am done, it will be posted on this website, so I hope you guys check it out! It'd be great if you could comment on what you think of the project. Thanks!
